This year's silent auction is shaking things up on the road forward. Thanks to the incorporation of "Bidding for Good" we will be taking national bids online for our silent auction items in addition to a small on-site silent auction. By tapping in to the national market we expect this year's silent auction to be a smashing success. Bidders can expect some of the same great items they have come to expect with the added excitement of bidding against others across the nation. The best part? As long as you have your computer or Smartphone, you can keep track of your favorite items to make sure you enter the winning bid!

Once again, this year's live auction is putting a new spin on things. Live auction participants can expect a sumptuous experience and an exhilarating "Barrett-Jackson Style" auction that begins in a general auction area. Once the bidding begins, so does the fun! Bidders will be escorted into the VIP section upon their first bid and can expect a high energy, exciting bidding experience including cigars, drinks and a great front row seats for the balance of the auction. Make sure to raise your paddle to get the full VIP experience! This auction is a can't miss!

Who is the organizer? The Greater Orlando Area Chapter of MPI is the host of the 2012 SEC and will administer the on-site Silent and Live Auction. However, each of the four Florida MPI chapters are responsible for obtaining their own items. Bidding is open to all conference participants and this year will be open to a much broader spectrum through "Bidding for Good."

Who receives the money and what is it used for? Auction proceeds go back to each of the contributing chapters and provide support for the educational programs that keep MPI at the forefront of the meetings industry.

What kind of items will be available at the auction? Items available will depend on donations received. In the past we've had hotel and resort stays from all over the world, car rentals, airline tickets, golf & spa visits, artwork, attraction tickets, dinner certificates, signed memorabilia, gift baskets and much more. Each Florida MPI chapter is encouraged to present up to 40 Silent Auction packages and 1 Live Auction item for a total of 164 amazing packages!

If I donate an item for the auction is it tax deductible? Yes! Once we receive your auction donation, we will send you a receipt with the appropriate documentation upon request.

What are some of the Live Auction Items from previous years? In the past, great trips from 14 nights in China with round-trip airfare for two in Business Class to a 10-night stay in Curacao with round-trip airfare for two. These are just a few of the amazing Live Auction items we've offered in the past.

When will you start accepting donations? We're ready for your help NOW! The deadline for getting donations to us is June 15, 2012.
